I lost my 28 digital recovery key numbers for my Apple

This is why I store my recovery key in a vault on a different security app 🔐

I need my recovery key thing to 28 letters or numbers or whatever it is so I can change my password. Never had this problem before.

If you activated advanced data protection then you are responsible to keep that recovery key in a Secure location

When you set up your recovery key you were clearly notified that if you lost it you were out of luck. You were advised to store it a safe and secure space. Did you do that?

Exactly. In fact you can’t even create the recovery key without first getting past the ginormous warning ‼️ that Apple will not be able to help you if you don’t store your own key 🔑

There is no way to find your Recovery Key as it needs to be saved by you and should have been written down and stored in a safe place. Apple does not have it and it is not saved anywhere else. If you have another Trusted Device, which is signed into your account, then you can request another key. Without a Trusted Device or the Recovery Key, you will not be able to access your account.

If you set a recovery key, and have then lost the recovery key, and now also lack your Apple ID password and a trusted device, then you are permanently locked out of this Apple ID.

The fundamental reason to enable the 28-character recovery key is to block all password resets without that key.
