texedit scrolls randomly

I'm typing content into a doc with TextEdit. When I get to the bottom of the page, from then on, when I type, the view scrolls to the top of the file, so I can no longer see what I'm typing.

If I stop typing and manually scroll down, as soon as I begin typing again, the doc scrolls back to the top.

I would try quitting TextEdit.app

Thanks for the suggestion. It didn't help, unfortunately.

I did a little more testing. It seems to be a condition of this specific rich-text file.

Even if I duplicate the file, the dup behaves in the same way. However, a new file with different multi-page content does not.

Also, as I was experimenting further on the suspect file, TextEdit crashed. It crashes every time I open that file and try to select text or type in text.

I can live without this file, so hopefully, it won't manifest in any others.

Very interesting; thanks for the update of your discovery.
