When I go to “share” on the app’s App Store page, and I select “send gift”, do I need to fill out the To: Email field with the recipient’s Apple ID email, or any email they use?

I do not see that it has to be their Apple Account. In theory they could even not have an account but would create one at the time so they could redeem the gift. They download a token for redeeming but then likely have to log into an account to complete the process.

Does the email I’m sending a gift to need to be the email attached to the recipient’s Apple ID, or just any email they use?
