SuperDrive won't eject disc

I have an Apple SuperDrive with a disc that will not eject no matter what I do. When I hit eject, it unmounts, doesn't come out of the drive, then immediately re-mounts itself.

I have tried a number of different things, including:

Ejecting from Finder (with right click as well)
Ejecting from Desktop (with right click as well)
Ejecting by dragging the icon to the Trash icon
Restarting the computer
Restarting the computer in safe mode/single user mode/etc to eject the disc/drive from there
Unplugging the drive and plugging it into a different iMac and then a Macbook Air
Using Disk Utility to eject/unmount the disc/drive
Using Disk Utility to eject repair the disc (it shows no issues)

Every now and then (but not always) an error message shows up stating the disc cannot be ejected--but then the error resolves itself, unmounts the disc, doesn't eject it, and re-mounts it again.

I have searched extensively and cannot seem to find an answer for people with a similar issue (what shows up the most is help relating to discs ejecting themselves when they aren't supposed to). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Had the same problem with an Apple SuperDrive. No matter how I tried to send an eject command, the disc would not eject. Annoyingly, it would whir a bit and play again. So I performed these steps:

1) unplug drive from computer

2) flip drive upside down while holding firmly in hand

3) bang drive on flat table a few times

4) plug drive back into computer

5) send an eject command.

Worked like a charm.

It sounds like you've done some good troubleshooting for ejecting the disc from your SuperDrive. If you haven't already, make sure you've covered all of the steps here: Eject CDs and DVDs from your Mac - Apple Support

I found a solution to this problem as I too had it. After pressing eject on the computer, wait for the Superdrive to attempt to eject and unplug it from the Mac before it can start to read it again. Next, give the drive a firm shake with the disk slot facing the floor and a small portion of the disk should emerge. Grab on to disk and carefully pull the disk completely out with some effort. My Superdrive seems to be functioning normally now and is properly ejecting its disk. I hope this solution finds those who need it and it works successfully for them as well.

Sorry for bad grammar and punctuation i've stayed up to 3AM to fix this issue and I am very tired.
