Can iPhone 6s update to iOS 16?

If you want to run iOS 16, you need an iPhone 8 or higher model.

Nope. It can't. It won't. It NEVER will. The reason you're now on 15.8, is you got a security update. Not an iOS update. iOS 16 will NEVER be coming to iPhone 7 or older devices.
