Crazy iMsg issue with Son, DiL & Wife. Indv iMsgs to each are blue. Gp Msgs to Son & DiL are green. Gp Msgs to all 3 are blue again.

On my iPhone 14, a blue bubble shows up when I send individual iMessages to each of my Son (iPhone 7), Daughter-in-Law (iPhone 12) or Wife (iPhone 8).

If I send a group iMessage to 2 of them (my Son and my Daughter in Law), my bubble shows green.

If I send a group iMessage to all 3 of them, my bubble shows blue again.

WTH? How do I fix?

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 16

Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the inconsistent bubble colors in your group iMessages:

- Make sure everyone in the group conversation is updated to the latest iOS version. Different iOS versions can cause weird bubble issues.

- Try turning iMessage off and then on again in Settings on your iPhone 14. This resets the iMessage connection and can resolve glitches.

- Go to Settings > Messages and make sure Group Messaging is enabled. This allows group conversations over iMessage.

- Double check that your Son's iPhone 7 and your Wife's iPhone 8 are still able to send/receive iMessages. Older iPhones may default to SMS.

- Remove all participants from the conversation and start a new group iMessage thread. This resets the chat.

- As a last resort, you can backup your iPhone and do a factory reset. This will wipe any corrupted iMessage cache data.

The inconsistency is likely an iMessage bug or glitch. Doing a network reset on your devices usually resolves any weird bubble issues in my experience. Let me know if the problem persists after trying the steps above!
