Why is my dialogue audio so low on the Apple TV app for PS5?

Literally every movie I watch, the dialogue is always low compared to everything else. There are no audio settings to switch to on the app for PS5 either, so I am stumped.

Apple TV App has no dialogue audio on any of my devices. I have a PlayStation 5, an Xfinity streaming box and two Sony tv that all support the Apple Tv+ app and they all have the same problem, no matter what show I watch they only play background audio/music, no dialogue. The PlayStation is connected to a soundbar and its audio setting are configured to such. Both tv are standalone and audio setting are set to tv speaker, stereo. The streaming box is also on the same system as the PlayStation. I can play any other streaming app just fine: Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, paramount+, you name it. I looked into the setting in the Apple TV app and there is nothing that can be changed there to fix the issue. I’m wondering if this is a glitch that needs fixing with an app update. I’ve updated all my software and firmware of each device and the app itself. Help please.

Youtube App doesn't play sound on Apple TV 4K When I play videos on the Youtube app (via Yamaha soundbar output) on an Apple TV 4K box, the sound always stops after several seconds. I don't have this problem with Netflix, Disney and other apps on the same device. Any idea how to fix this?

Surround sound (5.1 ch) broken except Apple TV app on Apple TV Box I've spoken to an Apple tech, but we couldn't find a solution. After the latest update, I noticed that Netflix, Disney+, Stan, and Prime Video no longer deliver surround sound (5.1ch). Interestingly, the Apple TV app plays surround sound without any issues. I also tested all my apps (as above) on LG TV, and all of them play 5.1ch sound perfectly. I also tried changing the "Audio Format" to 5.1ch on my Apple TV, but that didn't work either. Since the Apple TV app on my Apple TV Box produces surround sound and the other apps don't, I wonder if there's an issue with the latest update. Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

It is common for movies and cinematic TV shows to have higher dynamic range (difference between soft sounds and loud sounds), which means the regular dialog may seem lower volume than pop music or live TV channels (where everything seems boosted to peak loudness) — regardless of device or app.

Go to Settings and Limit Playback to SD to On.
