Macbook M2 - trackpad movement feels sluggish and non responsive

Hello,

I have my trackpad settings to tracking speed 3/4 of the way to fast.

I previously owned a Macbook 2012 13 inch. But ever since I upgraded to a new 2023 Macbook M2 I have felt that the trackpad just feels and works quite weird. It generally feels sluggish. I have the speed set to fast so doing quick movements is okay to get from one side of the screen to the other, however when I then do slow small movements such as clicking on something it then gets quite sluggish and feels like its clunky and in-accurate. It almost feels like your finger doesn't run smoothly along the trackpad when moving it slowly.

My question is - is this just how the Macbook M2 is or could there be something faulty with my laptop?

Thanks,

Paddy
