what is com.apple.jetsamproperties.Mac.plist

Today I applied the system-identified updates (OS & Safari). After restarting this file was identified as being changed:

com.apple.jetsamproperties.Mac.plist

What does this govern, and is it fine to find it changed?

What reported that it had been changed?

I don't think I've ever seen an update report a list of changed files.

It appears it is an iOS file that has some memory tracking and reporting for when apps are "jettisoned," hence, Jetsam.

There are a lot of intertwining of code base between iOS and macOS. From this description, it appears it has no function on macOS: Identifying high-memory use with jetsam event reports | Apple Developer Documentation

I don't think I've ever seen an update report a list of changed files.

It was one of my 'system checker' apps that routinely lets me know about changes, typically after an OS upgrade. I don't recall which one -- likely Drive Genius.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like I could delete it from my Mac without harm.
