Can’t find Touch ID & Passcode in Settings

Trying to figure out how to turn off the fingerprint Touch ID on iPad I just opened under my child’s Apple ID. It’s requiring my finger print and then sending request to me for app. I did hard reset, and turned off content restrictions but still not there. Software is updated.

Hi Cgreg79,

We appreciate you reaching out to us.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

Is the switch to enable or disable Touch ID under Settings > Touch ID & Passcode greyed out or completely missing?

If your goal is to prevent Ask to Buy, you can use the steps below on your device to turn off that feature.

If you are using an iPhone, please follow the steps below

  1. "Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name.
  3. Tap Family Sharing.
  4. Tap your family member's name, then tap Ask to Buy. In iOS 15 or earlier, tap Ask to Buy then tap your family member's name.
  5. Turn on or off Require Purchase Approval. "
