Google Popup Signing Prompt - How stop it?

I, like many others, want to stop the Google signing popup that I get when I go to websites. I have read many responses to this question and none of them apply. For example, go to Google/Security/Signing in with Google (under signing to other sites). This option doesn't exist. I use DuckDuckGo extensions to block popups as well as Safari setting Block & Notify for all Pop up windows. Surely there has to be an answer, even if the answer is there isn't a way to stop these popups at this time.

Is Apple doing anything to help all its frustrated users to fix this issue? Really would like to get an absolutely definitive answer to this issue.

Complain to the hosting site, don't patronize it, boycott it, etc. Apple might not have any influence, but your 💰 does. Use it.

Further update: Today, Aug 25th, I had my first Google pop-up since the changes suggested by John Galt. This means the suggested change did make significant difference in the number of popups but obviously doesn't take care of all of them. Sad, so sick of the google invasion!

You’re telling us that Apple, who owns and maintains “Apple Safari”, the same Safari that blocks a lot of popups already, cannot block this “annoying” pop up…sorry, but how can that be true, is Apple also getting paid by google to not block their popups as you claim the web site developers are paid…Apple can fix this if they wanted!

My problem is, I DESPISE google and will NEVER have a google account, how do I avoid these annoying popups when I cannot sign in and opt out? Can’t apple add an Opt Out option?

I read that google and Apple have an agreement to not block the login popups, which makes sense as google would block Apple in retribution. Personally, I would prefer neither, let me choose when I want to login and not prompt me at all!

I don't know what you are referring to and if you want us to read something you wrote elsewhere, provide URLs. Some of us do not like the intrusiveness of Google's prompt and don't want to see it. Do you have a firm fix for making this happen? If so, please share step by step process to get this nagging "stuff" off my browser.

The website is asking you to log in. I don't believe you can stop a website from doing that.

Those is happening to me as well and I am signed into a Google account. I turned off My lock screen password, facial recognition, and fingerprint, all the bios and it started to happen. Turned them on and it stopped. Hope this helps.

Are you still having this issue?

My point was that it may not actually stop all of the login requests. You may find that there are websites that still serve them to you even with this option checked.

cantara256, as the one that started this thread, I was happy to try your fix. I followed the instructions from the URL you posted and I tried on one site that always seems to present the Google Sign-on. Although I am using Safari, I have tried loading this site 4 times and have yet to see the prompt. Fingers crossed this is the permanent fix :). Thanks!

Good news, thanks! Were you able to stop the nag through Google, or are you using something else to block it? Lots of people want to fix it.

Follow the steps provided in John's response or later in my response. This appears to have solved the problem. Still in test mode as it has only been a couple of days.

Jim-Hill, what variable did you turn off? I have "Google Account sign-in prompts" turned off. Is there something else I am missing in the Google settings?
