List of MFI-compatible M1 chips.

After the announcement of the new features, I can't find a list of Made For iPhone compatible M1 chips anywhere.

Deaf or hard-of-hearing users can pair Made for iPhone hearing devices directly to Mac and customize them for their hearing comfort.

and

*Users will be able to pair Made for iPhone hearing devices with select Mac devices with M1 chip, and all Mac devices with M2 chip.*

Is anyone able to tell me which models will work with MFI?

I am currently facing the choice of my new MacBook. I don't know whether to go for the top-of-the-line version with the M1 chip or the slightly less advanced one with the M2 chip. I am a hearing impaired person who uses hearing aids on a daily basis and direct streaming to the aids is very important to me.

"Made for iPhone" seems to cover a wide range of things – not just hearing devices. For instance, CarPlay falls under the "Made for iPhone" umbrella.

You've probably seen these articles, none of which clear up the question as to which M1 Macs will support MFi hearing devices.

This 9to5Mac article from May says "We’ll need to wait for further details on M1 Mac support."

Other sites suggested that the MFi feature will appear in macOS Sonoma, and one claimed that Macs with 'base' M1 chips would get the feature.

At first, I didn't see any source for the assertion, but the trail eventually led to the macOS Sonoma Preview page

This seems to imply that the 13" M1 MacBook Air, 13" M1 MacBook Pro, and 24" M1 iMac won't be getting the feature.

I did see an article where someone said they were using AirPods as a makeshift hearing aid, the main limitation (in their eyes) being that you couldn't independently adjust volume for each ear.
