Bluetooth set up for re-chargeable hearing aids

I recently purchased new hearing aids that do not take batteries and can be charged over night in a plugged in container. The problem - with my old hearing aids (with batteries) the routine to be able to hear through my Mac laptop was to open the right hearing aid battery door and then close it and it would then connect. Now there is nothing to open and no matter how many times I hit connect in bluetooth settings next to my hearing aids it won't connect.

Can anyone help with this issue?
