IMPOSSIBLE TO CHANGE APPLE ID PAYMENT METHOD!

The directions on line do not work. Settings-check, tap on your name-check, tap payment & shipping-check, Apple password-check, at this point a payment method appears your card showing last four digits address, etc. Here is where the problem is, there is only one active choice "REMOVE PAYMENT METHOD" NO OPTION TO MANAGE OR CHANGE CARD. You can fill in a new expiration date, but you can not change the CC #. Tapping on Remove payment Method brings a notice that it can not because there needs to be an active payment method.

NOTE: I WILL SAY IT AGAIN, THERE IS NOT MANAGE OR CHANGE PAYMENT (CREDIT CARD #) TAB! TAPPING ON THE CREDIT CARD NUMBER BRINGS NO REACTION. Operating on IOS16.6 something on line said you have to be 11. something to make it work. ADD A TAB APPLE TO CHANGE CREDIT CARD.

Indeed . . ., if you want to change a card you must first add the new card and then remove the old card.

But if you can't remove the old card, then you should read (as posted) -> see -> Remove a payment method from your Apple ID -> Remove a payment method from your Apple ID - Apple Support

If you can't remove a payment method

If you have subscriptions like iCloud+, have an unpaid balance, or you use purchase sharing, you must keep at least one payment method on file.

Do you have a subscription? You can cancel iCloud+ and cancel other subscriptions from Apple. When your subscription period is over, remove your payment method.
If you're in a Family Sharing group and you use purchase sharing, the family organizer must have a payment method on file. If you're the family organizer, turn off purchase sharing, then remove the payment method.
If you have an unpaid balance, you might not be able to remove a payment method. Instead, change your payment method.

Refer to this document for ways to contact Apple ➞ Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support

Select your country (also look for "other" regions), then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

Hi, respectfully, did you even read the question / statement?

#1) There is no way to add a new card. #2) You can not delete an old card without adding a new card. If this does not work refer to #1).
