How can I copy a link and then paste it as plain text?
Mac Studio, macOS 13.5
Command-C = Copy text
Command-V = Paste text
Command-Option-Shift-V = Paste text without formatting
Update: Pasting with Command-Option-Shift-V seems to paste the text in the same style as the body text. Probably means it'd be good if you already have text in your document that you'd like to match.

It depends on the app. In most cases, there will be a "Paste and match style" command in the Edit menu.
However, that won't work in some cases. You might have to route the paste through some text-only app like BBEdit that strips all the formatting.
Some apps will look for URLs and give them an active link, even when pasted without any formatting.
If you want to avoid that, then try without the http or https.

Some apps are already triggered by foo.com or foo.net (e.g. Notes). Not sure how to avoid active links there, if wanted.

Paste it where and into what type file
I can Copy a URL Link into Notes application and remove the Url link making it Plain Text
To bring up the Sub Menu, Right click the text containing the URL and Remove Link
Same can be done in most applications
Refer to image below
just copy it, then paste it
That solves it. I was trying to paste into OmniOutliner, and it kept the formatting no matter how I pasted it. But routing the paste through Drafts or Notes got rid of the link. Thanks.
