Adding apps to a Watch setup via Family

My daughter has been trying to add an app on her watch which I have setup under Family Watches.


When she clicks to add it, I get a notification on my phone to approve it which I do. She then gets a message on her watch that says “cannot complete purchase” It says to go to the phone which her watch was setup on and click on her watch and go into the App Store. However, “App Store” does not show up for her watch at all. She does however have access to the app from her watch itself.

If so, we'd like to help you out. This is most likely related to restrictions being enabled on their device. We recommend that you check their Screen Time settings and check for any restrictions that might be enabled for iTunes & App Store Purchases: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
