12 mini recenty shows overheating warnings when wireless charging, but not on cord charging

I've had this phone for several years and routinely charge it on any of 4 wireless chargers in our house. Very recently, it began getting very warm when wirelessly charging on any of the wireless chargers and shows an overheat warning and stops charging at 80%. It charges normally, and cool, when plugged in. I am not using the phone while wireless charging. My phone and charging behavior have not changed, but the phone's wireless charging behavior has changed. My wife's SE continues to charge fine on all of our wireless charges.

Overheating can be caused by many things.

-Keep your device up to date on software

-Using Qi-certified chargers

-physical or liquid damage

-hardware issue

-battery degradation

-Phone case

-Usage

-External Temperatures

Keep in mind it's natural for devices to get very warm when wirelessly charging. However if it's warm enough to trigger the warning then there may be an issue with your device.

If your device continues to get hot then you may want to check your battery condition under settings/ Battery/ Battery health & charging. If the battery's maximum capacity drops below 80% then it's time to get it replaced.

Thanks. The battery health is at 85%, there has been no exposure to moisture and I've never dropped the phone. One of our chargers is a MagSafe and used for overnight charging, but the relevant point is that the phone worked fine with all of our chargers until about a week ago when I started seeing the overheat warnings with all of them. Home temp remains fairly constant (AC). Using the same very slim case, on the same chargers, I've had for several years. OS is updated all the time. Is there a hardware component failure that can cause this?
