Windows 10: Apple Music Preview app - crashes when playing lossless quality song.

Background:

Yesterday, I installed Apple Music Preview so I can use and download lossless audio files on my PC too.

I downloaded in Lossless quality (up to 24bit/48khz).

Played music, downloaded, closed app, opened. It was all working great.

Until I got home today and turned on my Apple Music app to try it... but it wouldn't work anymore (Apple Music on mobile works totally fine).

The Issue as Seen:

  1. When I select to play a song, it doesn't play it but tries to play the next song on the list.
  2. If no other song is on a list OR if the song I try to play is the last one on the list, the app simply plays a random song that isn't even on my library.

Current Status:

I am stuck. I hope I have provided enough information for Apple Devs to fix the issue.

Technical Details:

For every time I play a song, I get 3 Windows Application Event Errors with the following details:

1.

Issue Update: 8/12, 12:56

Just when the next day started, I couldn't play lossless music again.

I wonder what other trick will work but right now, reauthorizing, deauthorizing, authorizing-- does not allow me to play Lossless audio. I am back at square one.

So, I am unsubscribing from apple music.

UPDATE: I STUMBLED UPON A FIX!

Reauthorizing the same machine (my windows PC) makes Apple Music Preview app on windows 10 play lossless music.

I am crossing my fingers on this one but:

In the bottom left window of the Apple Music Preview Windows 10 app:

  1. click on my account name
  2. click "Authorize Machine"
  3. go through the prompts that tell you to "Reauthorize" this machine

After that.... I can play the lossless music again!
