I had to change my Apple ID. That, in turn, created an error on an Alexa Show device. In order to repair, instructions are to “unlink your account from Alexa.” But when I go to appleid.apple.com, then to Apple ID on IPhone and proceed to Password and Security and on to App-specific Passwords and Generate a pswd, nothing appears and the screen fills with App-specific Passwords again. I get nowhere.

How to generate an app-specific password
1. Sign in to appleid.apple.com.
2. In the Sign-In and Security section, select App-Specific Passwords.
3. Select Generate an app-specific password or select the Add button, then follow the steps on your screen.
4. Enter or paste the app-specific password into the password field of the app.

If the issue continues on the Alexa device, you'll want to reach out to Amazon for further support.

Thanks. The problem seems to be that when Apple generates the app-specific pswd, it does not display it. That means I cannot possibly know what the pswd is and cannot enter it into Alexa.
Thank you very much. My problem continues to be that the Generation of the new app pswd does not display anywhere, so I am unable to type that in along with my Apple ID

You can revoke an app-specific password by following the actions at the bottom of that article:
"How to revoke an app-specific password
You can have up to 25 active app-specific passwords. If you need to, you can revoke passwords individually or all at once.
next to a password you want to delete, or Revoke All.After you revoke a password, the app using that password will be signed out of your account until you generate a new password and sign in again.
Any time you change or reset your primary Apple ID password, all of your app-specific passwords are revoked automatically to protect the security of your account. You need to generate new app-specific passwords for any apps that you want to continue using."
