Apple Watch Black Screen

Apple Watch said "update required"; it never updated, and last located at home at 9:45 last night. The screen is black with a white apple. Off and on of phone and watch or watch alone did not work, Bluetooth of/on didn't work, the screen does absolutely nothing as far as tap/ touch with not other icons or sliders coming on at any time. Suggestions?
