App Store connection issues

I’ve just found my old 4th gen iPod and reset and it has latest software update but won’t connect to either App Store or iTunes? Can anyone help? Wifi connection ok and signed into my Apple account with no issues. Thanks

Here are a variety of resources helping with connectivity issues:

If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services, read this support article --> If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services - Apple Support

- If none of the suggestions work, try the last one: "If you’ve tried all of the above steps and you still can’t connect, contact Apple Support."

A 4th generation iPod Touch is considered obsolete by Apple and I believe that as a result it is no longer able to access the iTunes App store.

However, you should still be able to connect the iPod to iTunes (the software on a computer), but note that:

    • if you are using a Windows PC, running Windows 7 (or 8), it cannot sue the latest version of iTunes. The most recent version for Windows 7 is iTunes 12.10.11.2, which can be downloaded from iTunes 12.10.11 for Windows (Windows 64 bit)
    • if you are using Windows 10 (or 11), you can use the latest version of iTunes, which ion the day of writing this is 12.12.9.4, which you can download via the following Apple page: iTunes - Apple
    • If you are using an older Mac, running OS Mojave (10:14) or earlier, use the latest iTunes, via the following page: iTunes - Apple
    • if you have a newer Mac, running oS Catalina (10:15) or later, there is no iTunes. Instead, you can use Finder, which I believe comes pre-installed with the Mac OS

If your iPod is still not seen by your iTunes programme, try this Apple page: If your computer doesn’t recognise your iPhone or iPad – Apple Support (UK)
