My remote turns the tv off but it won’t turn it on
My Apple TV remote won’t turn the tv on but it will turn it off. It has worked in the past and now it doesn’t work.

There are settings both on the Apple TV and your HDTV that contribute to this feature working properly.
As to your Apple TV, double check the settings below, and if need be toggle them off and on again:
With regards to your HDTV, the feature is usually called HDMI-CEC and you'll want to make sure that is on as well. If it is not, the feature won't work properly. You may need to contact your TV manufacturer if you're unable to find where to check that setting.
