Mac Mini Volume changes itself

So I've been having this issue where the volume on my mac gradually inches upward on its own accord without me pressing any of the buttons. You can click the volume down but it gradually keeps going up and its completely wigging me out. Not using any speakers or anything just the mac. Weird as well because itll do this for like 15 minutes and then stop again and be normal. Weird right?
