Macbook Pro Volume Keeps Randomly Muting

For some reason, my audio kept randomly muting itself on and off repeatedly everytime I opened my mac.

I read online to run the following in the terminal:

sudo killall coreaudiod

But it didn't work

Sound problem on MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) This seems to be a well documented issue. The sound has suddenly gone very thin, tinny and quiet. I have tried on a different system on an external drive, reset the PRAM and fitted replacement speakers. None of these have worked. Does anybody have a fix for it ?

Loud headphone audio despite low volume settings on MacBook Air My sound audio input/output settings were around the middle before the problem. Whatever the default is. I tried adjusting them lower and it actually plays the sound loudly. The bar is at the lowest volume it can be in "output volume" but my headphones play the sound so loud it hurts. This is at volume 1. It's very frustrating and I need to know how to fix it. My computer seems mostly normal. I believe it is the fault of the sound settings. The fixed ended up being to turn off all of the login items, restart, and resetting all services.

Go to System Settings > General > Login Items and disable third-party apps.
Restart laptop
Then open up the terminal and run:

sudo /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
