Transferring apps to newer iPad

My iPad Pro won’t charge anymore so I was trying to transfer everything to newer iPad. It literally took my remaining battery to backup. But, once it hit 100% it shut down before I could do anything further. I have 2 games I’m obsessed with. One downloaded perfectly right where I left off. The other acts like I’ve never played it before. It didn’t even automatically download. My question is am I doomed to start from scratch!?!

Assuming that the App stores its data in iCloud - and both your old and new iPad are signed-in to iCloud with same AppleID, the data may accessible by the same App installed on a different device.


Alternatively, if your old iPad had an iCloud or iTunes backup, the data may have been saved. Restoring the pre-existing backup to the replacement device should recover the data:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

Restore all content to iPad from a backup - Apple Support
