Overheating M2 Air

Since the first day, I have a problem with heating of my macbook air m2. The first time I turned it on after purchasing and plugged charging, it started literally burning. I couldn’t even touched it. After I restart, the problem seemed to be solves because it didn’t overheat. However, it’s been 3 week since I bought it btw, randomly it overheats. For instance, on monday morning everything is fine, I’m using safari and word and it’s not even warm but in the evening while I start using the same apps it starts overheating. Do you guys think that maybe my macbook could have a software or hardware problem? I’m really worried because it’s only been under a month since I purchased it.

Also when I tried to open the teams app, my macbook collapsed. It closed every window.

I have run the diagnostics several times. The results were saying that everything is fine until today. This morning I had a massive problem with overheating and run diagnostics. The PPP001 was the outcome. So I called the apple support right away. From the support team, Maria, a senior specialist, was so helpful to me and told me the options I have.

I decided to take it to a apple service provider, which is Gurgencler Mersin, and the team was not supportive at all. I have tried to tell them my story but from my perspective they were not even listening.

I gave them my macbook for repair and I hope they will solve my problem. If this is a problem of hardware, I hope that they’ll exchange macbook for another because it’s been under a month.

I’ll provide you guys the updates.

I just wanted to share my story.

I think you really misunderstood my point. What I was trying to say is that the products should be working properly in the first place.

I don’t know if you’re familiar with the global news but we have something similar to a currency crisis and apple

products are really expensive in Turkey. So, when we buy something we tend to use it for years. That’s why I’m trying to solve this problem.

Thank you for your reply anyways.

I have macbook air M2 13.6" and it overheats too, but recently, I've only be using safari and I also don't work with more than just 3-4 tabs... I also have clear plastic case I bought for it because I want to keep its beauty and I really don't want it to scratch but as I read this also might cause mac to overheat so I removed it idk... I wanna know, where does mac air m2 breathe from? so I get a case for it which won't block it's breathing holes... maybe, that's the problem with me too?

If you bought it from Apple, you had 14 business days to return it no questions asked.

If it was a new Apple Mac, you're still covered by the Apple one tear warranty. Have Apple evaluate it.

If you bought it from a non Apple source, you'll need to deal with them about warranty service and/or repairs.

All the above is pretty much standard operating procedure for a device.

Well I didn’t know the 14 business days option. And as I said, I thought it was solved after I restarted it because it didn’t happen again after for a period.

Yeah it is new, it’s only been under a month.

The problem in Turkey is we don’t have the apple stores that much here. Majority of them are licensed distributors. Moreover, most of the customers buy from them not from the apple stores which are really few.

Thank you for your reply btw. However, it doesn’t make sense for me to have the right to return a malfunctioning macbook within a period (for me the most suitable one to own one that doesn’t malfunction)

So you have no recourse? Gotta say, that's not very "customer friendly" (a milder version of what I'm actually thinking) but if that's your circumstance then you have live within the system.
