Apple watch ultra showing waypoints I didn’t create and doesn't delete steps

When I select the backtrack feature, I get a prompt asking me to allow the compass access to help retrace steps. After allowing once, going about my journey then retracing steps, it then shows not only my recent path, but more paths and what appear to be waypoints (red dots) that I never created. It seems to show a lot of back and forth traffic from a recent destination I was traveling to and from but never created waypoints for or ever opened the compass app for. When attempting to delete the steps, it seems not to as if I repeat this whole process, everything shows up again. There are no listed waypoints to delete either. I’m the enclosed image that shows the travels. The one heading South was the one I actually set backtrack to but the other ones heading west with the white arrow I did not nor any of the red dots. The one red dot heading south may be the one waypoint I set, but I have since deleted it but it remains on the screen.

Can anyone please help?

Hello RiffVomit,

I LOVE your name Riff Vomit haha. Glad to see ya here. Apple needs to make it easier for us to navigate cities where we play these shows, eh. I about got lost walking back from a Dispo wayyyy up in Michigan because my compass seems to be inaccurate as **** in my phone, so when I turn on backtrack, even if I’m literally holding still, it starts adding in a bunch of random lines just because my phone thinks it’s moving around the house for some reason. I usually just drive waypoint on my watch, which, if I’m correct, uses the actual longitude and latitude from GPS and that’s it and it flies it to your watches Compass, which I think is a real compass and more accurate. Notice when you’re using GPS unless I don’t know maybe I’ve had bad luck my entire life with every phone, that your phone almost never really says it’s pointing on the right direction. That’s why I don’t trust the steps, and just drop waypoint along the way , like I’m dropping my own breadcrumbs instead of trusting the backtrack app to do it. Cheers in your endeavors bro (or sis, sorry can’t see a picture lol)

Same exact thing happens to me. I start a hike I start backtrack and after it starts, it shows me some weird random points on the way as I drove to the hike before I even started the backtrack. I canceled backtrack, delete steps, restart all over again at the same thing happens. It’s very annoying. It used to work absolutely fine in watchOS 9 and I loved it a lot. Can somebody help us with this issue? thank you.
