Playing selection in audio track editor

In Logic Pro audio track editor I often select a portion of a file in order to mute unwanted sound. Previously it was as easy as hitting the space bar and play the selection. This option seems to have been lost somewhere in the upgrades because now it doesn't work anymore. I can start the playback by double-clicking where I want it to start but then I have to stop it manually. I want it to stop at the end of my selection so I can hear that the exact point is where I want it to be. Have I missed anything or is it not possible to play a selection anymore?
