Good afternoon h_po. Jacob here. it seems like you are having issues recovering data on your iPhone and would like to recover said data. Unfortunately, this would be made quite difficult if you were not using iCloud backup, or didn't have a backup on your computer. However, if you did have a backup in the cloud, which is up to date, it is as simple as restoring from said backup, which you will be given the option to do once you set up your new iPhone, or your repaired iPhone 8 Plus. The contents of the recent backup would then be transferred onto your new, or repaired phone. You would however need a windows PC or a macOS device to restore your 8 Plus to make it repairable.
