A message about a non-genuine part is discussed in this support document: iPhone parts and service history - Apple Support
An Unknown Part message appears if the part installation is incomplete or if the part:
- Was replaced with a nongenuine part (e.g., you had it repaired with a third party service that did not use an Apple component)
- Was already used or installed in another iPhone
- Isn't functioning as expected
If the reason isn't immediately apparent, go to this page to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Apple Authorized Distributor (AAD) --> Find Locations
How to make a Genius Bar appointment
1. Go to Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple
2. Go to "Get hardware help".
3. Select your hardware and continue selecting options requiring replacing parts until you see "Bring in for Repair"
4. Sign in with your Apple ID

Just the other day in settings the “Unknown part” popped up. The thing is I have never tried to put in any part. My camera seems to be just fine. I contacted Apple and they ran their diagnostic program and that confirmed the error. What the heck could be going on? 14 pro Max
Well, something has occurred to damage your iPhone and was not properly repaired.
One possibility from the article linked above:
”Additionally, repairs that don't properly replace screws or cowlings might leave behind loose parts that could damage the battery, cause overheating, or result in injury.”
There is nothing further that can be done at this point. The iPhone will continue to function the same as it would otherwise.
We can't diagnose what the issue may be. Schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and let Apple see the phone and they'll offer possible service options.
