No email on wi-fi

I can’t receive or send email while using wi-fi. Cellular data will receive and send. Multiple wi-fi networks tried, no firewalls preventing email function. I’m tech dumb, please reply in comprehensible English. Issue just start after last IOS update on 08/12/23.

Thanks. Yes I did that and it’s now worked. I’m not sure where the VPN came from. It seems to be linked to My Data Manager app. But now it’s removed my emails are back. It also impacted some other apps. Eg My Ring doorbell. But I think we’re all back to normal now. Not sure why it suddenly all started playing up. Is it linked to the recent IOS update I wonder??

Troubleshooting Mail Issues After an Update:

A. Use a New App Password:

Do you use an App Password? If so, try a new App Password. Sometimes, changes (i.e. updates) are made to the device, and then mail server syncing becomes an issue (which is what a new App Password it intended to fix). As an example, go here for gmail: Sign in with App Passwords - Google Account Help - Google

B. Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Having just gotten this error after an update, Apple should be made aware of this. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what bugs exist, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone -Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update, and how you have troubleshot it thus far. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary.
