Validating Font Book Installation

I can't install fonts in Font Book. Validating always appears when I install. Is there any solution for this?

Fonts not installed I am trying to install fonts into Font Book with an .OTF file type (I also tried .TTF) and got an error message: Fonts not installed. Could not install fonts. This may occur because of efforts to install fonts in files containing no valid fonts. Check your selection and try again. A friend just successfully installed these fonts on their Mac so not sure why it's not working for me. Any suggestions?

Downloaded fonts show as installed but aren't available for use I downloaded two fonts I need for work. Both went through the automatic verification in font book, both are showing as installed when in fontbook, however, I cannot use them in any application on my macbook air: word, google, excel, outlook etc. I am running Catalina 10.15.7 I've followed every instruction I can find to fix it but nothing works. I've added them to collections, I've followed advice from another post, changing the font book preferences to the other location. Help please!

Try dragging the font file into Home/Library/Fonts. To get to Home/Library, hold down Option while doing Finder > Go. If there is no Fonts folder, make one via File > New Folder.
