Magic Keyboard 5th generation

I recently purchased a 12.9” IPad PRO WI-FI - 256GB 6th generation and Magic Keyboard 5th generation and love them but all the sudden last night the keyboard space bar stopped working in Safari. It works fine in Notes but when I try to enter anything in safari the space bar will not work so I have to type everything in notes then copy and paste. This includes things like signing into web sites, search and email. Is there a setting that has changed since the latest update that has caused this?
