Can a hidden AirTag on my child be found by a kidnapper?

If an AirTag notifies someone if it is in their presence, and I use my AirTag to make sure I know where my kids are at all times, would kidnappers know my child has an AirTag hidden on their person?

If your goal is to keep tabs on your child's location, you may want to consider using a device that relies on GPS, not Bluetooth, like the Apple AirTags. These also offered with a small footprint that can be, for example, sewn or well hidden into clothing. They generally do not make any sounds to alert the malfeasant ... and are specifically designed for tracking. An example of these, would be the LoJack, which are designed to be placed in a car, and optionally can be tracked by a service that can notify the police.

Sorry, I can't offer you a direct example as I have not had an actual need for one of these devices. I'm just aware that they exist. I suggest that you do a bit of research and/or contact the appropriate agency that handles child kidnapping (should this be the reason you are looking for one of these) and see what their recommendations are for this purpose.
