This message has not been downloaded from the server.

I have been working with a IT person called Aaron for the past week. We were on the phone for over 3 hours and tried everything. Deleting the app, powering down, fiddling about with the settings etc. Nothing worked. I keep sending him screenshots of my “empty” emails and links to comments on this page (so that he is aware of the fact that it is a bigger issue than just mine). I’ve advised that it works fine when I go onto the yahoo mail website, just doesn’t work through the apps.

He seems to be trying to work out what’s wrong but nothing yet. I’m hoping it will be resolved shortly. Let’s see!

Try this try to delete as many emails as you can from your yahoo account. I deleted over 1000 and now it works just fine. Go to Yahoo and pick a word that’s associated with lots of emails. I picked the word Macy’s. And then searched then went to edit, and if you put your finger on the upper left-hand corner of your screen and run your finger down to the bottom of the screen and leave it there, it will highlight every single Macy’s ad you’ve received since you’ve had a yahoo account and then delete I deleted 2000 emails and now everything downloads from the server. After you’ve done all those deletions turn your phone off off wait five minutes turn it back on again. It worked and it’s kept working so far for three days.

I fixed mine the other day and here’s how you do it one. Go to your yahoo email and search for an email that you know you have many of. 2

Then press edit.

put your finger on the top left-hand corner of your screen with a very light touch run your finger down to the bottom of your screen and hold it there and every single email that you’ve searched over the years will come up.

3. Hit the button.

Deleted emails that way it works just fine

Pick an email of which you know you have many undeleted.

2 press search to locate them all

3. place your finger in the upper left-hand corner of your screen with a very light touch. Move your finger down to the lower left-hand corner. Every single email you ever have had in that email address will be highlighted.

3 press delete.

After I deleted well over 1000 emails now works fine!!

I discovered this because I have 2 yahoo accounts one I’ve had for over 20 years and that’s the one that would not download from the server. The other one is relatively new. I’ve only had it for five or six years and there’s no problem with it at all.

This fix works. I got a new phone 1phone 15 thinking it wold help but it didn’t.

Thanks for posting this. I get the error message all the time and it is beyond frustrating. I have tried everything to resolve it and yet it persists. It is now simply a game of chance as to which messages display. Ridiculous

my emails are not downloading again this has been happened for months. Iv even got the latest iPhone something needs to be done. It’s frustrating and I need these for work. Iv done everything possible to fix this. Apple please sort this

Wow thought this was just me , it’s been happening on my phone now for around 6 months , it’s the most frustrating this ever, I also very much rely on my emails daily , and need to be able to access them in the move ,

Wow! I thought something was wrong with my phone, password etc! Email I use is on the yahoo and associated with yahoo server- I have iPhone 11 Pro Max- emails- Account error can’t download from server!!! Been receiving more and more frequent! It’s beyond frustrating!! I immediately log directly into my email on website and it’s fine - We SHOULD NOT have to go through this! I swipe up mail app- retype password in - then maybe after few minutes or hours works - then all happens again in a few days- hours / never know

Apple needs to fix - we all have so much important information coming in on our emails - So sad for the amount of money we pay they cannot fix this issue

Two things about mail . #1 half my mail goes straight to JUNK. It gets worse with each upgrade. #2 I keep getting the message that my mail has not been downloaded by the server. This has also gotten worse with eac IOS upgrade. This even happens to ky Apple News.

It gets better. Not only is it doing this to me for an email that I need to get a link from and that the phone did have yesterday, but when I hit reply on the message it says hasn’t been down loaded, it shows the full body of the message in the reply, so it absolutely has already download it and does have it. This bogus, fake error message is nothing but complete broken nonsense from Apple, making it harder for us to use the phone to do crucial things that we need to do in our businesses, for no reason that is possible to see.

I’m having the exact same problem. Missing many important documents and nothing is resolving the issue! I’m so fed up I’m contemplating going back to the other side. At least there I never missed any emails or downloads.

Still getting the email not downloaded from the server far too often. Very frustrating and Apple have clearly not found a fix for this. Be buying a phone from another provider if this continues for much longer. Not good enough

So what you are saying is close out yahoo email accounts and switch solely to Google /Gmail??? I have both Yahoo & Google acccounts and both give me this message when accessing thru the Mail App on iPhone.
