I cannot turn off find my phone because the phone is not responding

My phone was in my pocket when I took t out it had the computer and charger symbol showing. I tried to update and do factor restore but the phone is not responding. Apple wants me to turn off find my phone before I send the phone in for repair. If the phone is not responding how do I turn off find my phone?
