My new password isn’t being accepted on my Mac

I had to change my Apple ID because of a fraudulent attempted sign in message I received. So, I was able to enter my new password on my watch, but now I can’t get into my Mac

iMac password reset itself after upgrading to Sequoia 15.3 iMac 27", 2019. Recently upgraded to Sequoia 15.3. This morning, my password is no longer recognized as correct. Fortunately, was able to unlock with Apple Watch, but can't reset iMac password without first entering old password, which is being rejected. I am unable to reset password on my MacBook Pro Hi everyone, So i went to change my password on my 2013 MBP running Big Sur and while i was at it, allow my apple watch to unlock it. Somehow, the settings is now saying there is no password set for this user, and i can't change it because it doesn't accept the new password or the old password. How do i resolve this? Enter Mac Password for Apple Sign in My user account on my Macbook Pro is linked to a domain account. When chooing the "Sign in" option under "System Settings", I am prompted for my apple ID and apple password. Once supplied and verified using MFA, I am prompted to "Enter Mac Password", which the following message: "The password you use to unlock this Mac will also be used to access saved passwords and other sensitive data you store in iCloud. <My Account Name>" I have entered the password used (domain password) for the user account on my Macbook, however the password is never accepted. Instead, it deactives the process for a certain number of minutes. I then waited for the number of minutes to elapse, changed my Macbook user password (domain password), restarted the Mac, successfully logged in using the new password, and when I tried the Apple Sign in process again, the password was again not accepted, this time with the additional message "Authentication is disabled." This is prohibiting me from loggin in to my account using my Apple Watch, as well as accessing my passwords on iCloud. Please assist.
