Best web browser for old Mac

I have a 2013 MacBook Air (mid 2013) that is running Sierra 10.12.6. Safari has a lot of issues so I can't use some sites (especially when I want to buy things). I have Google chrome but it makes my computer slow and I always got a notice that I will no longer be able to update it with 10.12.6. So my question is what is the best web browser I can use with my older Mac? And can I easy install it without losing my documents etc?

FWIW, a Mid 2013 MBA can be upgraded to Big Sur which can run any modern browser and includes a more compatible version of Safari.

Any 32bit apps would have to be updated or replaced.
