Water spill issues on M2 MacBook Air

After spilling water on my 13-inch M2 MacBook Air and waiting a few days to dry out I have the following symptoms.

  1. Using the battery only it turns on but nothing appears on the screen
  2. When I have ac adapter plugged the screen works but then turns off
  3. If I press the power button the screen appears for four seconds then turns off
  4. The keyboard does not work
  5. The screen flickers with the ac adapter thus not enabling me to log onto the computer since when it flickers I have to restart typing my ten character password
  6. Trackpad does not work

Should I just wait a few more days to see if things get better or just take it to a Apple Store?

It's not likely your Mac will heal itself.

Have Apple do a hands-on evaluation. But if Apple sees the water detection "dots" are showing a water incursion and subsequent damage, the fix is to replace the entire logic board.

And that's not going to be cheap.

My keyboard started working fine after I bent the computer towards me. The coffee drained out from the bottom of the keyboard. Initially it did not charge using the USB fast charger but charged with the regular charger. It now charges with USB C charger as well. The water mark on the screen has got smaller. I will use hair dryer behind the screen and keep you posted
