Icon thumbnail for any file type not showing.

On my M1 Mac, when I go to see files on any external drive, thumbnails are not show for any file type.

heres what I’ve checked, and done so far;

checked “show file thumbnail” and rebooted.

booted into safe mode and back.

relaunched finder

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.0

file preview stuck on loading icon | does not preview or quick from finder Ever since I updated to the latest macOS (ventura 13.3 - 22E252), the preview and quick look feature for files in finder does not work. It keeps loading but never previews the file. However, the preview app does work, so when I fully open the file, it opens up correctly with it's designated app but the quick look feature and preview in finder does not. Finder not loading image thumbails for new files (MacOS Monterey 12.6.3) I found this same issue mentioned a while ago, with no answers. I have noticed recently that for new image files, Finder is not creating thumbnail images; just the generic icon. I tested restarting finder, relocating the plist file, restarting it, no impact. The version of Finder is Finder version 12.5. Has anyone else been encountering this bug?

Disappearing thumbnails/file icons in menus After the update to MacOS Ventura 13.0 some file icons in menus became blank. The file icons are all visible in Finder (windows). The same file icons display as a 'blank' icon in the attachment overview This happens for example with all .pdf files I tried re-installing the specific programs but this seems not to help. Thanks for any advise
