I can't be without a phone. I need to replace the cracked screen on my iphone 14.
I kept my old iphone 11,. thinking I could use it as a temporary replacement. Will that work?

I'm going to answer my own question for anyone reading.
1) Get a second number installed on my own phone at <>provider. Get a new sim for old phone.
2) Use *72 for forward my calls to the new number.
3) Make an appt at genius bar in the morning.
4) Wait.
5) Thank staff for rapid repair.
6) Dial *73 to end call forwarding.
7) Disconnect second line.
This involved both provider and apple, it was tricky. As usual got correct info from Apple and multiple responses from phone service.

Transfer the SIM/eSIM from iPhone 14 to 11. For repairs, they do not need the SIM/eSIM
