No sound from IPhone 12 after connecting Monitor via Apple’s HDMI adapter
No sound from IPhone 12 after connecting external Monitor via the HDMI cable using Apple’s HDMI adapter. If on a call, there is sound from the IPhone’s speaker.

I figured it out myself. You have to connect a bluetooth audio device to your IPhone and select that on clicking the square icon which I presume is the Air Play icon. If the monitor has no speakers, then this is the only way to get sound because the IPhone will not play any sound from it’s speakers. Surprisingly no one in Apple support knew this and I had to figure it out on my own. Even here I don’t see any replies. Just to add, connecting a TV has no issues because it has speakers. Cheers !
