My experience says connecting an iPhone directly to a monitor using a regular HDMI cable will not transmit audio.

However, there are alternative solutions you can try to mirror your iPhone screen on a Samsung monitor or TV and get audio and video:

  1. Apple Digital AV Adapter: You can use an Apple Digital AV Adapter, also known as a Lightning Digital AV Adapter, which connects to your iPhone's Lightning port and provides an HDMI output. This adapter supports both video and audio transmission. Simply plug the HDMI end into your Samsung monitor and make sure it's set to the correct input.
  2. Apple TV or AirPlay: If you have an Apple TV connected to your Samsung monitor, you can use AirPlay to wirelessly mirror your iPhone's screen to the monitor. Swipe down from the top right corner of your iPhone to access the Control Center, tap on "Screen Mirroring," and select your Apple TV from the list.

Always ensure that your devices are up-to-date with the latest software versions, as compatibility and features may change over time. If you are using a cable or adapter, make sure it is an authentic Apple product or a reputable third-party accessory to ensure compatibility and avoid potential issues.
