Why MacBook Air use hard disk automatic eject?

It's complaining that the disk was NOT ejected properly.


This could happen for several reasons:

  1. User error. You unplugged or turned off an external drive without putting it away (unmounting / ejecting it) first.
  2. A power failure or system crash.
  3. Some glitch (other than #1 or #2) that caused an external drive to become disconnected.


If you have ruled out #1 and #2, and you are seeing intermittent disconnections of drives, this could be related to letting the computer (go to sleep / put drives to sleep).
