Can static electricity from macbook cause damage to iphone?

Hi,

I have been charging my iphone via USB C to lighting cable connected to my 16 inch macbook. Nowadays I am feeling a bit of a tingly shock when touching the macbook's chassis as well as iphone's metal body.

Can this cause damage to either of them?

NB: I use 140W brick (2 prong hence not grounded)

Thanks.

Based on what you provided, your home's electrical system may not be properly grounded. As such, I strongly suggest that you contact an Electrician to check it out. Feeling a "tingling" sensation would not be normal, and it could potentially damage any electronics connected.
