Recycle 2009 Mac
Can I recycle my 2009 IMAC at an Apple store? Do I need and appointment or can I just drop it off?

They say you can recycle that way. See the FAQs on recycling at the bottom of this Apple page:
However, for taking it to a store, they do not say whether that can be a walk-in or an appointment is needed. And acceptance may vary from store to store. From the fine print at the bottom of the above page:
In-store trade-in requires presentation of a valid photo ID (local law may require saving this information). Offer may not be available in all stores, and may vary between in-store and online trade-in. Some stores may have additional requirements.
