Keyboard quite working

Changed the battery on my MacBook Pro and now the keyboard doesn’t work

What model Macbook Pro? They have been around since 2006.


Retina models (Late 2012 to present) do not have a user-serviceable battery. Many attempts by end-users to remove the glued-in Retina battery result in irreparable damage to the trackpad and/or keyboard connections, sometimes even logic board damage.


This may be a total loss. If this is a Retina model you need to have the shop that replaced it make it right or spring for a new computer. If you did it yourself, the repair costs are on your tab.


More bad news: If you or a non-Apple approved provider changed the battery, Apple may refuse to do further work on it.
