why can't i track my daughter iphone using find my once she is out of range of our wifi network ?

My daughters phone is an iPhone SE 2nd gen, running latest IOS, 16.6. My phone is n iPhone SE 3rd gen running 16.6. Both phones have family sharing on, Bluetooth on, wifi on, cellular on, location sharing on. We have different Apple ID’s but we aar on the same family network. When her phone is in the house everything works but as soon as she leaves the house tracking stops at her last known location and goes off line. In addition, none of my daughter’s other devices can track her even though they are using her Apple ID. Her other iPhone is an IPhone SE 1st gen, running 15.7.8 has Wi-Fi on and Bluetooth but no cellular.

Thank you for you assistance. I checked to see that cellular data was turned on as you suggested. As this didn’t help I reset network settings on her phone. Still not working . Come to find out the that her Tracfone data plan had 0 mb. Apparently this must be purchased separate from talking time and texting. I purchased data and I am now able to track her phone.

Hey Bat-21,

With this not working as soon as your daughter leaves the house, double-check that Find My has cellular data access. To do that you'll tap Settings > Cellular, then scroll down to the Find My app to make sure it's turned on here. Here's a guide on cellular data too, just in case: Use cellular data on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Take care!
