3.1 2008 Mac pro issues after upgrading ran.

I decided to upgrade my ram after doing so the ram was not reading correctly. I decided to swap the sticks around so they can read correctly. After that I noticed my chime going off randomly on start up. Sometimes it takes 10to15 minutes before we started by self.

Normally the ErrB light indicate the B processor is bad.


You panic reports show what is typical for an unrecoverable RAM memory error, so it might suggest Processor B is the one that detected the error.


Mac Pro 3,1 uses Error Correcting Code (ECC) RAM. Some details are mentioned in this article:

I suggest you return to the last previous configuration that worked. if you can get the machine working try the new RAM alone, if possible. Then try adding the old working RAM to it as desired.
