Inserting audio files in word so non-mac users can open

Hi, I'm trying to insert audio files in a word document, which works perfectly when I'm looking at it, but when I send to a non-mac user, they can see the speaker icon but can't click on it to open the audio. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

What format is the file you're sending?

As long as it's a format that's compatible with the non Mac user's OS the files should play. That assumes the non Apple user has the needed app for playing it of course.

Best course may be to tell the other user to use the same player you're using. If there is a non Apple version of course.
